Jobs, Transparency and Oversight

Welcome to the online headquarters for my campaign to create a pro-job environment for the private sector in Arkansas, and establish real transparency and oversight in state government as a member of the Arkansas Senate representing District 34.

As Arkansas faces the highest rate of unemployment in 24 years, the need for more employer-friendly government is now more important than ever. I am committed to one goal: creating an environment where the private sector can create better job opportunities for Arkansans.

By establishing real transparency in government, Arkansans will know how our tax dollars are being spent. And by increasing oversight, we can not only determine which policies hamper private sector job creation, but we can also make sure that the phrase "We've always done it that way," becomes a thing of the past.

Thanks to conservative members of the General Assembly, many controversies that would have otherwise gone unnoticed were brought to light this year, including the double-dipping of state employees and the executive branch ignoring the law in order to appoint political allies to key posts.

It is time for the General Assembly to become a true co-equal branch of government. The check-and-balance of a General Assembly controlled by conservatives is needed now more than ever.
